Infrastructure development is one of the requirements for Matsapha Town Council as it is expected to provide safe, affordable, sustainable and accessible multi-modal transport services. This unit promotes integrated land use development and ensuring prime movements for the residents and users of the transport system within the urban area. The Engineering Department’s key responsibility is to regulate infrastructure development and maintain the road infrastructure including the road reserves. The rolling out of the Capital Improvement Programme (CIP) is the vehicle for the department to realize service delivery in this regard. Under this department there are three (3) prominent units through which the department achieves its mandate, namely Town Planning, Building inspections and the maintenance sections. The Town Clerk’s office is also responsible for all communication between the Management and the authority’s departments, sections, branches and communication with the public.
